As an experienced event photographer in Atlanta, I’m often honored to capture incredible milestones—but Miss Tillie’s 80th birthday celebration at Villa Christina in Sandy Springs, Georgia was something truly special.

A Night Honoring a Georgia Legend
Miss Tillie is a revered figure in the Georgia community, best known as the founder of Every Woman Works Inc. Her journey started with a role at a substance abuse recovery center, where she applied her corporate experience to develop life-changing programs for women in recovery.

In 2004, Miss Tillie took a leap of faith and launched Every Woman Works Learning Center using her own 401K. Her mission: to provide a safe, supportive environment where women can gain essential life and job-readiness skills, becoming self-sufficient and empowered.

A Full-Circle Moment for Me as a Photographer
This event wasn’t just another booking—it was personal. I first met Miss Tillie over 12 years ago while working an event for Praise 102.5 Atlanta Gospel Station at her Every Woman Works foundation.

Since then, we've shared a strong professional relationship rooted in respect and admiration. Being invited to document this milestone event felt like a full-circle moment that I’ll never forget.

A Joyful Evening to Remember
The event was filled with joy and heartfelt celebration. Guests enjoyed speeches, dancing, and warm interactions with Miss Tillie herself.

During the event, she was awarded the honor of “Miss Tillie Day” in Sandy Springs along with the announcement of a foundation in her name. She was radiant—smiling, laughing, and dancing with friends, family, and supporters.

Why I Love What I Do
As a professional event photographer, moments like these remind me why I do what I do. My goal is not just to take pictures, but to preserve legacies, tell stories, and build meaningful relationships along the way.
