This Past weekend, we were booked to capture fall family portraits. When I was first approached by the client's request for a fall foliage shoot in Atlanta, I immediately thought of Grant Park. Which is located near east downtown ATL.
Grant Park offers amazing city views with walking trails and well placed trees. At first, this seemed to be the ideal choice however the location was a bit too far for my client who now resides in Decatur.
So the next best location to come to mind was Dearborn Park. Dearborn is is a small nature preserve filled with a running river, bridges, walking trails, a play ground and a basketball court. Located within the quaint Midway Woods neighborhood, this location worked much better for the client.
Once the shoot date arrived, I rode up to the park on my bicycle and was immediately in awe of the colors! I knew at that moment that this shoot will be a great one. So I pull out my camera and matched my camera settings to the background available and began taking some awesome test shots. Here are a couple...
As you can see, the colors popping for the changing leaves were perfect and ready to go. When the client arrived, we conversed for a bit then got right to the shooting. Overall, I am super pleased with this shoot and the images that came from it. What I intended for was able to be created and that is truly all you can ask for as a photographer.
Take a look at this video slide show I created to showcase some of my favorite photos from the shoot;
