Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing a set of senior portraits at Morgan Falls Overlook Park in Sandy Springs, GA. My client reached out in late September looking for portraits for her daughter’s senior year.
She wasn’t sure where to shoot, but she knew one thing for certain — she wanted the beautiful fall colors.
Choosing the Right Location
Since the shoot was planned for mid-October, I knew the timing would be perfect. I logged into my TakePicsHere.com dashboard and browsed my curated list of Georgia photo locations.
Morgan Falls Overlook Park immediately stood out — close to my client, full of autumn foliage, and packed with built-in natural features that elevate portraits.
Before recommending it, I looked through nearby alternatives like Dunwoody Nature Center and Springway Trail, so my client had options. Ultimately, she chose Morgan Falls — a great decision.
The location offered stunning lake views, park benches, a rustic brick chimney, and the iconic Angel Wings art installation, all surrounded by fall’s golden tones.
The Shoot
We spent about an hour on-location, comfortably capturing a variety of looks (including an outfit change) without ever feeling rushed.
The combination of natural backdrops, vibrant fall color, and relaxed energy made for an unforgettable shoot.
